Manaslu Trek
Trek Description
The Manaslu Circuit Trek is one of Nepal’s most breathtaking and less crowded treks, offering a perfect mix of adventure, stunning landscapes, and rich Tibetan culture. Unlike the Everest and Annapurna treks, Manaslu is remote, untouched, and far from the crowds—perfect for trekkers who want a raw and authentic Himalayan experience.
This trek takes you through deep gorges, suspension bridges, remote villages, and high-altitude passes, with the grand finale being the Larkya La Pass (5,100m)—one of the most dramatic Himalayan crossings.
The Manaslu trekking region, located in the Gorkha district, is home to the world’s eighth-highest peak, Manaslu (8,163m). It is a haven for adventurers seeking breathtaking natural beauty and cultural immersion. The region features diverse landscapes, ranging from lush forests to glacial valleys, and includes the iconic Larkya La Pass (5,106m).
This trek takes you through remote villages, ancient monasteries, and the pristine Manaslu Conservation Area. With its peaceful trails and fewer crowds, the Manaslu region offers the perfect blend of adventure and cultural exploration for trekkers seeking a truly unique Himalayan experience.

“Kathmandu is a place with more temples than houses, more gods and goddesses than people, and more festivals than the number of days in a year” - Sir Kirk Patrick, the first-ever Britisher to visit Nepal.
We will drive from Kathmandu to Machha Khola (930m): a 6 to 8-hour bus journey from Kathmandu.

Trek Trek & Trek
Our trek along the Budhi Gandaki River passes Doban, Thulo Dhunga, Yara Bagar, and several suspension bridges before reaching the Manaslu Conservation Area gate and Jagat(1410m).
Above Jagat, with a glimpse of Sringi Himal in the distance, the trail ascends past Salleri, Sirdibas, and Philim to Deng (1860m) via Ekle Bhatti, crossing the Budhi Gandaki River twice on suspension bridges.
Crossing the Budhi Gandaki River, and ascending through forests and mani stones to Ghap and Ghapsya, the trail passes through a landslide-prone area, requiring caution. The trail then climbs to Namrung (2660m), crossing rivers and passing serene gompas.
The trek ascends through forests to Lihi, passing Sho, Lho, and Shyala with stunning views of Mt. Manaslu, Himal Chuli, Peak 29, and Ganesh Himal. A short walk from Shyala leads to Samagaon (3530m), a charming village surrounded by yak pastures and traditional settlements, offering a perfect end to the day’s trek.

Acclimatization & Rest Day
After several days of trekking, we’ll take a rest day in Samagaon.
We have two options for acclimatization hikes: one to Manaslu Base Camp, located north of Sama village, and the other to Pungyen Gompa, an ancient monastery offering stunning views of the Manaslu and glacier.

Ascend Continues
The trail to Samdo (3860m) ascends steeply along the Budhi Gandaki River, passing through a forest of Rhododendron, Juniper, and Birch. Samdo, 4 km from the Tibetan border, offers views of Mt. Manaslu, Simnang Himal, and the Manaslu glacier, along with a Tibetan refugee community.
It’s a short-day trek (3-4 hours) from Samdo to Dharmasala (4480m). If you are lucky, you can see blue sheep on the way.

Larka Pass
Today is the highlight of the trek, as you’ll cross the Larkya La (5100m), the highest point. The 3-5 hour climb rewards you with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, including Himlung, Cheo, Gyagi Kung, Kang Koru, and Annapurna II. After reaching the summit, we’ll descend steeply across moraines to Bimtang (3720m).
We begin with a sunrise over Bimthang’s snowy peaks, then descend through forests along the Dudh Khola River. After passing fields and the brandy-known village of Tilije, we reach Dharapani (1920m).
The trek ends in Dharapani, after breakfast, we’ll take a jeep to Besi Sahar. After a short break, we’ll continue our journey by vehicle to Kathmandu, concluding the Manaslu Circuit Trek.
