Dolpo, often overlooked by development and, until recently, by tourists, remains a timeless place. Familiar to most Nepalis through the film ‘Caravan’ and to non-Nepalis via the best-selling book ‘The Snow Leopard,’ Dolpa captivates with its serene beauty.
Sitting by the Ringmo village, observing the ever-changing colors of Phoksundo Lake throughout the day, one can’t help but feel enchanted. Both altitude and terrain-wise, it is an easy trek to Phoksundo Lake.

Fly to Juphal
Today we will fly (1hr) from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj, a gateway to Far Western Nepal.
The next day we will fly (30 min) from Nepalgunj to Juphal (2475m) and trek around 3 hours to Dunai (2140m).
Trek to Phoksundo Lake
On the third day, we will trek from Dunai to Chepka (2670m) walking for about 5-6 hours, and overnight stay at Chepka. The following day we will trek from Chepka to Jharna Hotel (3130m) walking for about 5-6 hours.
The next day we will walk for about 4-5 hours from Jharna Hotel to reach Ringmo village (3640m) and overnight stay at Ringmo.
Explore Phoksundo Lake & Tshowa Gompa
Retrace the trail to Juphal
Today we will retrace our way back to Chepka from Ringmo village and overnight stay at Chepka, (6-7 hours).
The next day we will retrace the trail to Juphal from Chepka (6-7 hours).
Fly back to Kathmandu
