Trek Description
This trail begins from Sandakpur (3636m), the highest point of Singalila ridge, all the way to Kanchenjunga South Base Camp (Okatang, 4730m) via Timbung Pokhari (gun firing pond), a holy and mysterious pond. This 11N/12D trek covers a 155km long trail. This new trail is unique, offering views of four of the highest mountains in the world: Mt. Everest (8848.86m), Mt. Kanchenjunga (8586m), Mt. Lhotse (8516m), and Mt. Makalu (8481m). Along the way, trekkers encounter high-altitude ponds—Haadi Pokhari (4270m), Timbung Pokhari (4350m), Chahare Pokhari (4400m), and Naya Pokhari (4450m). The trail also traces the origins of five major rivers—Maipokhari, Hewa Khola, Iwa Khola, Kabeli Khola, and Sebuwa Khola—each with unique cultural significance. Additionally, it is home to diverse wildlife, including Danfe (Lophophorus), Wild Bears, Blue Sheep, and Snow Leopards, providing an extraordinary experience for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts.

Trek from Sandakpur to Chiwa Bhanjyang
We will begin our trek from Sandakpur (3636m) with the magnificent sunrise view and the sea of clouds. The view of Sleeping Buddha will dominate the northern horizon all the way to Phalut (3600m). From Phalut, we will trek to Chiwa Bhanjyang via Tori Fulley and Kalijhar, which is around 13 km long and takes about 7 hrs. We will stay tonight at Chiwa Bhanjyang (3139m), situated in the no man's land at the border between Nepal and Sikkim.

Day 4-5
Trek from Chiwa Bhanjyang
The real trek begins from Chiwa Bhanjyang as occasional yak herder’s hut is the only sign of habitation on the way. Walking around a 21 km long trail for about 6-7 hrs a day on to the ridge, we will be camping or enjoying a Ghotstay (stay at yak herder’s hut), experiencing the lifestyle of yak herders. Throughout the day, we descend and climb, maintaining a steady height, spiraling from one side of the ridge to the other. We will be lucky enough to encounter birds like Himalayan Monal and Blood Pheasant while passing through the forest of rhododendron. Gairi and Phadey Megu will be our spots for overnight stays.

Day 6
Trek to Thulobhanjyang
Today we will trek around 13 km for 6-7 hrs through the rhododendron forest, playing hide and seek with Mt. Kanchenjunga, Khumbhakarna, Kabru, and Pandim. We will visit the holy and mysterious Timbung Pokhari, also known as the gun firing pond, and stay overnight at our guest house, The Red Panda Guest House at Thulobhanjyang.

Day 7-9
Trek from Thulobhanjyang to Tseram
Trek from Thulobhanjyang to Chaare to Chirlingey to Tseram is about 36 km long and will take about 6-7 hrs of walking a day. We will cross four rivers, four pokhari (Handi Pokhari, Fusrey Pokhari, Love Pokhari, and Naya Pokhari), and three passes: Torme pass, Naya pass, and Chirlinge pass. Chirlinge pass is the highest at an elevation of 4550m, while Naya pass provides the best view with Makalu on the horizon. We will be camping or enjoying a Ghotstay (stay at yak herder’s hut) until we reach Tseram.

Day 10
Ascent to Oktang & Back
Today, we will ascend to Oktang via Ramcher and back to Tseram. This hike to Oktang will be the best hike of your life, with the breathtaking mountain vistas and beautiful landscapes along with the magical Lapsang Pokhari, following the trail through Yalung glacier. The flock of blue sheep will welcome us at Oktang. We will return to Tseram for an overnight stay.
